This was taken at the iconic Stockton Sand Dunes near Newcastle, Australia. The gusts of wind were intense, it was cold and very unpleasant. This hardy soul was the only person walking on the beach in sight - it looks like they are boldly striding towards their own adventure, reminding me of a scene from Shakespeare’s The Tempest. I’ve provided the image with very low-contrast, but add some and it looks like it has been painted with ink on parchment. I love that look.
