One last shot of Mount Washington in the Cascade Mountains in Central Oregon. I wanted to get a shot with that mile-long shadow from a formation known as Hayrick Butte. I tried to get a better shot of the shadow in its entirety...but the sun was slipping under the horizon and its shadow seriously outran my drone that was flying at 45 mph. Crazy, eh? Free geology lesson: Hayrick Butte formed when a volcano erupted under a large glacier. It rises 700 feet above the ground and it’s surface is almost perfectly flat. Cool, eh?
